Pandora to open106th UK store

The Denmark based jewellery company, Pandora, is gearing up to open its 106th UK concept store at the end of August on Oxford Street.

The luxury store will be situated in the Park House building near Bond Street and Marble Arch which is known to be one of the liveliest shopping locations in central London. It will be the largest concept store in the firm's portfolio, with retail space of 200 square meters spread over two floors.

Allan Leighton, the firm’s brand chief executive, said: "We want to offer our customers good quality jewellery at affordable prices in an aspirational setting and our flagship store achieves this. The UK business has accomplished a strong brand presence and a loyal following over the last five years and we feel this store represents the brand entering a new stage of its evolution.”

The store’s first platform will be used to entertain visitors with an exclusive sculptural meeting bar that will also be part of VIP events such as press meetings or celebrity appointments.

The firm’s president for Western Europe, Peter Andersen, said that the worldwide store will emphasise the company’s stance in the market as "a leading jewellery brand" - adding that Pandora has been planning the project for five years.

Currently, the company runs a small concept store near Oxford Circus, including occupying a space at the flagship of House of Fraser department store located on Oxford Street.

Following the news of its flagship opening, the company announced its second quarter results with a 11.6 per cent boost in UK store sales.
