Snapdeal acquires mobile platform startup Letsgomo enhance Mcommerce

E-commerce marketplace Snapdeal, which is run by Delhi-based Jasper Infotech Pvt Ltd, has acquired Letsgomo, a mobility solutions company, for an undisclosed amount, it said in a statement.

The Gurgaon-based startup provides end-to-end mobility solutions to businesses that are looking to harness the power of mobile.

Founded by Manav Kamboj and Vikas Banga, the 76-member team—with expertise across mobile technologies, design and strategy—helps businesses build mobile strategies, conceptualise applications and mobile sites, among others.It also works with e-commerce companies to help them strengthen mobile capabilities.

Mobile is one of the key growth drivers of e-commerce in the country and building a robust mobile commerce platform has been a key focus area for Snapdeal. This acquisition will help Snapdeal strengthen its mobile technology capabilities.

“Mobile is one of our key focus areas and in two years, the medium has proved to be one of the biggest growth drivers for the company. Delivering a great user experience across varying data connections and numerous handsets being used in the country is the guiding principle for our mobile initiatives. Over 75 per cent of our sales now come through mobile platforms and Letsgomo team becoming a part of our family will propel our efforts in this direction,” said Rohit Bansal, co-founder, Snapdeal.

The e-commerce site has been on an acquisition spree for quite some time.Last month, it acquired Hyderabad-based technology startup Martmobi to strengthen its mobility platform for merchants.

In April, it acquired mobile recharge platform FreeCharge which was regarded as the biggest acquisition in the internet business in India.

In March, it had acquired a majority stake in Gurgaon-based digital financial products distribution startup RupeePower. It also bought a minority stake in logistics firm QuickDel Logistics Pvt Ltd, which runs operations under the GoJavas brand. GoJavas is the former in-house logistics unit of lifestyle e-tailer Jabong.

Early this year, Snapdeal also bought lifestyle e-tailer was previously acquired by Myntra two years ago but was sold back to its founders and had been operating independently since then.

In the past, Snapdeal also picked up a stake in Smartprix Web Pvt Ltd, which runs online product and price comparison site Smartprix.
