Asda aims to open more click-and-collect tube delivery points
Asda’s click-and-collect grocery Tube delivery points have risen in popularity to such an extent that the supermarket chain hopes to roll more on the network.
Currently the retailer delivers to six stations: East Finchley, Harrow and Wealdstone, High Barnet, Highgate, Stanmore and Epping.
The news comes as the company reports a decline in sales by 0.1 per cent for the three months to 3rd January, however, sales for the whole year have increased by 0.5 per cent.
Asda’s chief executive, Andy Clarke, said: “Every week has been better and better. Customers are really embracing ‘click-and-collect’ and the service worked better than expected.” he added that future expansion plans are to concentrate extensively on the London and the South-East, with 97 per cent new and refurbished stores in the area.
