Ocado open a third giant warehouse
Ocado will soon open a third giant warehouse in an effort to increase its capacity for grocery deliveries by up to 50 per cent.
The online grocer has drawn up a shortlist of potential sites in Leeds and Manchester for a 350,000 square foot automates warehouse. A search for a South East-based facility is also underway.
The e-tailer, which is Waitrose’s biggest customer, already has a facility in Hatfield and also one in Tamworth, Warwickshire.
Ocado is planning to build the centres with Morrisons after the supermarket giants signed a £216 million agreement last May – a move which gave Ocado the means to attract partners in the US and Europe.
