Rocket Internet launches several real estate services

German incubator Rocket Internet has backed real estate classifieds player Lamudi which has launched operations in twelve countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The company stated that further country launches will take place in the upcoming weeks and months.

The venture has launched several real estate services under different brand names in various markets over the past five months.

Erwin Sikma, CEO of Lamudi Asia said, “We are very bullish on the real estate classifieds market and aim to establish ourselves as the new number one in emerging markets. In particular with the support and knowledge from Rocket Internet, we will grow Lamudi very fast.”

Lamudi enables customers to easily find or sell their house, apartment, commercial property or land online. At the same time, property providers and agents get a trusted online presence through a personalized webpage. The company claims to have professional photos, updated listings, detailed descriptions, reports and rankings for 100% of its properties in each market.

Founded in 2013 it is currently available in Algeria, Bangladesh, Colombia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Uganda. The real estate marketplace offers sellers, buyers, landlords and renters the ideal platform to find homes, land and commercial property online. Previously, Lamudi was active under the brand names Vamido (Africa), Ubilista (Latin America), Zamudi and House (both Asia).
