Reebok International Ltd. (NYSE: RBK) and GSI Commerce, Inc. (NASDAQ: GSIC), a leading outsource solution provider for e-commerce, announced today an alliance to develop and operate an e-commerce store that will be accessible at www.reebok.com.
GSI Commerce will develop and operate all facets of the online store, including web site design, customer service, order processing, fulfillment and merchandising, while Reebok will oversee marketing and product assortment. The store will feature a broad selection of Reebok’s top-tier footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories, including NFL, NBA, Classic and Rbk merchandise. Reebok’s move into e-commerce is an extension of the company’s key brand initiative to grow quality market share. Through its alliance with GSI Commerce, Reebok will be able to offer its customers the ability to shop online with the same quality experience that can be found at authorized Reebok retailers. In addition, consumers will be given the option to purchase products through more than 30 certified Internet dealers who are linked to Reebok.com.
Michael G. Rubin, chairman and chief executive officer of GSI Commerce commented, “Reebok continues to be one of the most contemporary athletic footwear and apparel brands in the world, and we are delighted to be able to serve their customers with a great e-commerce experience. We look forward to working with them in this exciting endeavor.”
