Lonely Planet launch online shopping cart on portal

Travel content provider, Lonely Planet has launched online shopping cart on its portal allowing users to purchase travel guides and e-books online. Digital agency Iffort, which is responsible for other online initiatives by Lonely Planet, has powered the facility.

In the first phase, only those titles which are produced by Lonely Planet India will be available for customers to purchase online, all other titles produced internationally and e book versions will be added shortly. The price point of the travel guides available on the Shopping Cart starts at Rs.140 and the customer will be able to make the payment using payment gateway enabled by Iffort.

Lonely Travel Guides and books are also available on ecommerce platforms like FlipKart, Amazon India and HomeShop18.

Sesh Seshadri, Director of Lonely Planet India, said, “Launch of the Shopping Cart is one more initiative by Lonely Planet and will ensure ease for our customers by making shopping experience simpler and more convenient. Travellers always reach out to Lonely Planet for destination information and now they have additional facility to browse and purchase Lonely Planet products. Travellers can also download free sample chapters so that they can get a taste of the travel guide before they purchase it. We are positive that this will only add to the customer experience.”

Daksh Sharma, Director of Iffort, said, “ We have been receiving many queries from consumers on buying the travel guides and it’s great that they can now purchase the travel guides right on the official portal of Lonely Planet India. This starts a new chapter of our journey with Lonely Planet India and we’re quite excited to take this relationship a step ahead.”
