Poundland is to open its first Dealz store on the Isle of Man this week.
This comes after the discount retailer opened its very first Dealz stores in Ireland in October. The Dealz stores offer products at the single price point of EUR 1.49.
However, the UK Dealz store will trade using sterling currency at the former Woolworths site in Douglas.
Poundland chief Jim McCarthy refused to reveal price points at this stage, although he did comment that 99 per cent of the products would be sold at the same, low price. It is likely that products will sell for more than £1 due to the influence of higher operational costs, according to McCarthy.
McCarthy also made a point of reiterating that Poundland stores will continue to be the main outlet for the retailer in the UK.
