An “important but not large-scale” event by Apple is still enough to get every fan of the electronics giant guessing as to what it could be planning to launch in New York at the end of January.
It won’t be iPads or an Apple TV, but the announcement will include Apple’s head of internet software and services Eddy Cue, which suggests it will relate to publishing or media content.
According to AllThingsD, which cited “sources close to the situation” the suggested location on the US east coast also implies it will relate to printed media, as the traditional stronghold of American publishing media empires and the advertising business.
Cue was placed in charge of Apple’s mobile advertising offering, iAds, which many are now suggesting could be the focus of the event, perhaps launching a new approach to the struggling format.
