Quirky fashion retailer Monki has opened its first standalone store today, on London’s legendary Carnaby St.
The Scandinavian retailer already has its roots firmly set in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands and one concession store in London’s Selfridges representing the brand in UK. The concession was launched last year, and may have been used to test its potential within the London fashion scene.
The first 100 customers to enter the store received a cat-shaped balloon with a complimentary £10 gift card to spend on any item in the store. The atmosphere was lively and excitable as people sized up garments and rushed to the dressing rooms.
The opening comes just one week after its brother brand Cheap Monday opened its doors adjacent to the new store. The H&M arm is set to make an impression on the fashion-conscious street.
