British grocer Waitrose announced to open eight stores in Bahrain
British grocer Waitrose has announced plans to open eight stores in Bahrain over the next few years, according to Trade Arabia.
Jannie Holtzhausen, chief executive officer of UAE-based Fine Fare Food Market, which manages the operations of Waitrose stores in the region, told Trade Arabia:
“Now that Waitrose have opened our second store in Bahrain, we are looking at more expansion in the future. We will look at areas that are suitable and proceed accordingly.”
Waitrose currently operates in excess of 200 stores worldwide, the vast majority of them in the UK. There are also two in Dubai and four more are scheduled to open in the UAE this year.
