J. Crew open first store outside of North America
J. Crew is to open its first store outside of North America on the corner of New Burlington Street and Regent Street in London, according to WWD.
The store, which will cover 17,000 feet, will house separate women’s and men’s stores, each boasting its own entrance. A separate section will also be reserved for Crewcuts - the brand’s children’s line.
As My-Retail Media reported back in February, the American fashion retailer has been considering making the jump across the Atlantic for some time. At the time, executive creative director Jenna Lyons said: "We're looking at spaces on Regent Street. And I wouldn't mind being in Covent Garden for a smaller store. It won't be just one store - we're not gonna be stingy."
The store is expected to open in late 2013.
