Morrisons has bought six HMV stores from the collapsed retailer’s administrators as part of plans to expand its convenience store chain.

The stores will be converted into ‘M’ local branches to be opened this summer in Chesterfield, Newbury, Enfield, Scarborough, Lancaster and Wood Green.

This month the grocer bought seven shops from failed camera chain Jessops and 49 from Blockbuster.
