EduRev, an abbreviation for Education Revolution, is an educational network based on the largest crowd-sourced library. It is a platform for teachers, authors & publishers to shift from an offline model to the online one.
EduRev had been looking for investments and as per the latest information EduRev, a Gurgaon-based ed-tech startup, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in a Pre-Series A round from Pradeep Reddy Kamasan, who is part of Hyderabad Angels group. Pradeep has joined EduRev as a strategic investor, to help EduRev obtain new customers across southern India.
With the new funds, EduRev plans to introduce a new model that will help colleges in admitting new students. The startup will launch more free courses for major fields of education. EduRev also has an Android app
which is currently in beta, with over 4000 downloads. The model will compete closely with portals like Shiksha or Career360, who are working in the same domain, however EduRev will have advantage since its core model is about offering free things.
While speaking about the development Kunaal Satija, Founder and CEO, EduRev said,
“We want to build the largest educational network of the country. We want to make every field of education available for free online and monetise on the data,”
He further added,
“There lies a huge gap between the online and offline ed-tech space, which is helping institutions to shift their model from completely offline to online plus offline,”
