French fashion retailer Lacoste has just appointed a new chief executive to head up its team. Thierry Guibert leaves his position as CEO of furniture brand Conforama to lead Lacoste, replacing José-Luis Duran.
Duran only took on the role recently, in 2013, and the circumstances surrounding his departure from the company are unclear. He has made reference to "other, personal projects" he wished to concentrate on, though it has not been revealed whether the choice to leave Lacoste is his own.
New boss Guibert has a wealth of experience in the high-end retail field, having worked in managerial positions for firms such as Kering and Fnac, as well as Conforama. He has received great praise for his work at the latter in particular, where he helped the brand to achieve positive growth, despite the fact the furniture market continues to decline.
