The first Fortnum & Mason airport branch at London Heathrow is now fully decorated, and filled with classic Fortnum’s products such as caviar and hampers. Though catered to travelers the store carries a range of stock for the flagship, and even contains a savoury counter.
A bar is also located next to the 1,000 sq ft shop, which mirrors the Piccadilly food halls, and sells fresh food and drinks to consumers, from the first flight of the day to the last. On the subject of the new store and bar, chief executive of F&M Ewan Venters said last July:
“Heathrow is the UK's hub airport and the first impression of the UK for more than 35 million passengers a year. At Fortnum’s we have three centuries’ experience of serving customers travelling the globe, so it’s fitting we should now serve passengers flying to some of the world’s most glamorous locations”.
The retailer has also launched a new tea in honour of the store – the “Explorer’s Blend”, which uses exotic flavors from around globe.the
