Online sports site Sportskeeda, which recently celebrated its 5th year anniversary, has appointed Shard Sharma as its VP, Sales and Marketing for its Indian as well as overseas markets. Sharma will look to maximize Sportskeeda’s brand value, traffic and monetization through various sales and marketing campaigns.
Sharma has more than 14 years of experience, having worked previously with Rediff.com, Sify.com, Moneycontrol.com, Webdunia, Zee Network and Reliance (Zapak).
“Sport in India has tremendous scope for growth, and Sportskeeda, with its ever-expanding digital media reach, is one of the few organizations in the country capable of accelerating that growth. I hope to be in the thick of things when the sports revolution in India reaches fruition,” saidSharma.

While cricket still forms one of the major focus areas of the site, the coverage of other sports like football, tennis, hockey, badminton, etc. has helped Sportskeeda carve a niche for itself. During the FIFA World Cup, the company saw its average monthly readership going up from 3 million unique views in April-May 2014 to 5 million in June-July 2014.
