Amazon.in today announced the launch of the ‘Large Appliances Store’ on its marketplace www.amazon.in, featuring a wide selection of appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, air-conditioners and dishwashers.
Few online retailers offer large appliances due to difficulties in delivering them to buyers. In April, rival e-commerce firm Flipkart had started selling television sets on its site, re-entering the large appliances category nearly a year after it was forced to withdraw them because of delivery problems.
"We are excited to launch the Large Appliances store in time of Diwali and enable customers to conveniently shop while they engage in festivities,” said Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India.
The company scheduled free installation and product demo to attract customers to shop on their website. Amazon.in also introduced an extended warranty program covering maintenance & repair over & above brand warranty.
Jeff Bezos, Chief executive of Amazon said in late July that the company would pump in as much as $2 billion into its India business as it aims to become the leader in one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets and rev up sales growth outside of North America.
Recently, Amazon.in announced the exclusive launch of GOQii Life, which combines an advanced fitness tracker, a mobile app and a personal coaching service, for its fitness-conscious customers.
