The success story of China's Alibaba has become inspiration for Tata Group to made its foray into on-line space through market place model.
As media reports have indicated that on-line initiative will be led by Tata Industries a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Sons.
Media sources have confirmed that company is evaluating the current e-commerce market closely, and plans to launch business model alike to Flipkart The proposed marketplace might have by next year, and will feature its retail chain Westside, Croma and Star Bazaar. If sources are to be believed the company is proposing a joint venture with Zara, which is aggressively sold on-line through its exclusive portals.
Presently, Tata runs its oniline venture just to retail consumer durables under its flagship brand Croma.
