Farmfoods is to open distribution centre at Bristol

Frozen food retailer Farmfoods is to open a 175,000 sq ft temperature controlled distribution centre at Central Park in Severnside, Bristol.

Farmfoods, which grew its sales by 41.8 per cent for the 12 weeks to 2 March, originated in Aberdeen almost 60 years ago and has over 300 UK stores.

The DC will be built by developer Roxhill as a design and build freehold project with the centre expected to be completed at the end of 2014. The 600 acre park is also occupied by pallet specialists CHEP UK.

Charles Blake, director at Roxhill said: “Central Park is quickly establishing itself as one of the UK’s premier distribution hubs. Delta Properties has invested heavily in the park’s infrastructure and, combined with Roxhill’s ability to deliver fast track buildings under a unique B8 planning permission, this puts Central Park at the forefront of the regional market.“
