Marks and Spencer has announced plans to open seven stores in Finland by 2015 following its recent launch in the Netherlands after a decade of absence.
The retailer has signed a franchising agreement with a Finnish retailing cooperative organization, S Group, and aims to also launch an online store in its local language in the first half of 2015.
Expected to open its doors in October 2014, its first store will be located in Sokos department store in Helsinki. Other locations eyed by the British multinational retailer are Jyväskylä , Hämeenlinna, Tampare, Lahti, Pori and Lappeenranta.
The retailer currently runs more than 700 stores in UK and 450 stores in emerging markets around the world.
