Homebase is plans to launch a 2,000 square meters store in Hexham

Homebase is planning to launch a 2,000 square meters store in Hexham, Northumberland as part of an £8 million retail development with Pets at Home and Majestic Wine.

The British home improvement retailer and garden centre has also announced Louise Reilly as its new store manager and is expected to recruit 25 staff members.

The project will be run by Rokeby Developments which has entered into an agreement with Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC and development manager Network Rail to develop the former goods yard into a retail led.

Expected to be opened during Easter weekend, Homebase will include a garden centre and hoping that its online plant sales leap this spring.
