UK-based Indian origin designer to debut at LFW

India-born internationally acclaimed accessory designer Mawi Keivom will be making her debut on the Indian ramp at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2014 here.

The Britain-based designer from Manipur returns to her homeland after 12 years of establishing the MAWI brand in London.

Keivom will present 30 looks of bejeweled decadence that will be complimented by an outstanding collection by the Indian couturier.

Creations from her latest collection, “Indian Odyssey,” will be showcased on Mar. 13 at LFW, which begins on Mar. 11.

“I am very excited to showcase my collection in my home country for the first time. It is an honor to be a part of Lakme Fashion Week. I hope this feature on the Indian ramp is a first of many more to come,” Keivom said.

The accessories designer will collaborate with one of India’s most celebrated fashion designers, Gaurav Gupta, for the five-day extravaganza.

“I am thrilled with this unique association and have enjoyed every bit of working with Mawi. I have specially created garments that perfectly accentuate her accessories collection.

“I’m eagerly looking forward to presenting my collection adorned with her beautiful jewelry and accessories,” Gupta said.
