WWD is reporting that Kate Spade will soon be launching its first swimwear line. The line is part of Kate Spade’s cruise 2015 collection, and includes 70 pieces: 52 mix-and-match separates, 12 one-pieces, and several cover-ups. Prices will range from $120 to $200.
If the bow-adorned bikini above is any indication, this swimwear will be on par with the rest of Kate Spade’s retro, girly, and quirky offerings. In addition to bows, the swimsuit designs include black-and-white checks and stripes, polka dots, and gold metal-plated zipper pulls.
Deborah Lloyd, Kate Spade’s president and chief creative officer spoke to WWD about the line:
“This is such a fun opportunity to bring glamour back to the beach. I am constantly inspired by the glamour that women brought to the beach in the Fifties and Sixties.”
If you want to purchase one of these swimsuits before the end of summer, unfortunately it’s a no-go. Kate Spade swim won’t be available at retailers until this November. There’s always next year though, right?
