Designer Aarti Vijay Gupta presents collection Indian Miniature Paintings at LFW 2014

This season at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014, young designer Aarti Vijay Gupta presented her collection “Indian Miniature Paintings,” which was a tribute to the 16th-19th centuries of Indian history.

Gupta married the past with the present in her new collection, which featured portraits and flora and fauna on fabrics like Habutai silk. Models were seen wearing multifunctional silhouettes in regal cuts and prints.

Talking about her collection, Gupta said, “Pricey possessions are not meant just for the walls; now you can wear them, too. Wake up to the actual art of dressing and adorn yourself with silhouettes that will complement your personality.”

“Raanjhanaa” actress Swara Bhaskar was a special guest at the show, which marked Gupta’s fourth season at Lakme Fashion Week.
